Ideal Characteristics:

HSEQ and Compliance Manager

To drive our journey of growth and continual improvement we are looking for a proactive, solutions-driven HSEQ Manager to join our Management Team and assist in achieving maximum customer satisfaction and achieve our strategic goals in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety legislation obligations, in line with the companies Risk Management Program. Qualifications and Experience:
  • A tertiary degree or equivalent experience required
  • Experience in the waste or transport industry is highly preferred
  • Experience and understanding in managing and auditing HSEQ, QMS, NHVAS, Fatigue Management and Chain of Responsibility
  • Current First Aid Certificate, Return to Work, Fire Safety Advisor
  • Excellent Time Management, Communication, and Organisational Skills along with the ability to positively influence and improve health and safety outcomes
  • Experience dealing with Government Bodies (WHSQ, Work Cover, NHVR, Environment and Heritage)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships internally as well as externally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and balance risk management and operational business requirements
  • Adaptability to manage between the Safety space and Operations, Sales & the Financial needs of the business
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Responsibility for ensuring the company is fully compliant and adhering to statutory regulations. Review and implement relevant safety systems and undertake audits to verify compliance.
  • Prepare and ensure that OHSE Inductions and training is provided to all employees and subcontractors. Ensure all subcontractors are compliant to carry out work assigned.
  • Monitor daily site tasks and provide advice on risks and control. Ensure all works are completed in accordance with required contract conditions/standards.
  • Administer and Maintain Risk Assessment, SWMS & Registers.
  • Liaise with other department heads, Business owners, Customers, Contractors and Government departments as part of an overall customer centric approach.
  • Promoting a ‘safety culture’ and a continuous improvement system through introducing and maintaining best practice management systems in the workplace with a hands on approach.
  • Investigate any injuries, incidents and near misses, and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Co-ordinate return to work activities.
  • Assist Business Development Team in preparing tenders and contract mobilisation requirements.

Operations Supervisor

Responsive customer-based work for bulk liquid waste/vacuum tankering / heavy vac / industrial services and water blasting / civil earthworks and larger project-based activities. 

As part of a small team delivering bespoke solutions, no two days are the same.  Working knowledge of heavy vehicles, waste and environmental services industry would be advantageous

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Scheduling / forward planning using current systems and processes
  • Vehicle/ driver and subcontractor allocations and monitoring day-to-day changes of individual jobs and project requirements

Workshop Manager

We are looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to join a company based in Ipswich. Our fleet consists of prime movers, rigid, and various trailer applications. This is a key role in ensuring our fleet is maintained to a roadworthy standard to support our operational requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring all vehicles are maintained to a roadworthy standard.
  • Maximise fleet availability for operational requirements through scheduled servicing and planned maintenance.
  • Ensure servicing requirements meet our NHVR accreditation standards.
  • Implement maintenance programs and initiatives to ensure the successful day-to-day operation of the workshop.
  • Manage maintenance and labour costs as well as stock control.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of mechanics and apprentices.
  • Developing strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Daily admin requirements. Invoice approvals/PO requests/Quotes.
The successful candidate will have experience in the following:
  • Proven experience in managing a successful heavy vehicle transport Workshop.
  • Must be able to forward plan service and maintenance schedules.
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task work effectively within a team environment.
  • Be a proactive leader of Health, Safety & Compliance.
  • Developing and mentoring staff.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel.

Industrial Services Supervisor

The Opportunity:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Services Supervisor. The position reports to the General Manager.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving and leading all Liquid and Industrial Services activity in a safe and efficient manner whilst driving growth and performance to meet financial targets. 

We are looking for someone who can drive business development growth and identify areas of opportunity for innovations with a good understanding of industrial and liquid operations.

About the role:
  • Leading the Industrial Services business in Queensland to ensure compliance with company, statutory and compliance requirements and objectives
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of the business through proactive management of employees, procedures and processes
  • Managing workplace teams to meet required objectives such as business development, customer service, efficient operations and profitability;
  • Lead a growing team across various sites and be proactive in managing industrial relations matters;
  • Create a team culture that delivers outstanding individual performance and achieves successful business results;
  • Drive development and implementation of specific projects, tenders and sales processes to drive business growth and meet customer expectations;
  • Lead operations and ensure the correct plant costing, allocation, movement, maintenance and appearance of the vehicles, plant and sites;

We are looking for an experienced supervisor with:
  • A minimum of 5+ years in a similar role 
  • Established network of contacts and customers within the industrial space.

  • Previous experience and/or understanding of site operations, logistics, transport and/or liquids/solid waste management collection & recycling (essential)
  • Experience running projects to diversify services and create new revenue streams.

Industrial Services Operator

The Opportunity:

The Austrans Group are seeking multiple Industrial Service Operators to join the team in Brisbane. We have both permanent and casual positions available.

As an Operator, you would be mainly working Monday to Friday, with overtime available (weekends/night shifts / away work) day to day you would be responsible for the industrial cleaning onsite.

You will operate equipment for various services including high-pressure water jetting, drain cleaning, vacuum loading and general manual labouring tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Leading hand roles
  • HP blasting roles

We have a great opportunity for a CCTV Operator (Pipeline Inspections) for a highly skilled technician. Based at Loganholme or Wulkuraka you will join our dynamic team as we service a wide range of customers in various markets.

The Role:
  • Undertake CCTV audits of new and existing sewer and stormwater infrastructure
  • Pipeline inspection reporting
  • Perform regular maintenance on CCTV equipment

This is a key role in the business as we are looking for someone who can supervise the day-to-day running of our transport operations.

The Role:
  • A hands-on Transport Supervisor that connects operations, workshop, drivers, and fleet to ensure the smooth daily operation of the depot
  • Work closely with the operational team to improve performance and increase fleet productivity whilst meeting our customer’s needs
  • Liaise with the workshop to ensure fleet availability
  • Driver and subcontractor management including recruitment
  • Problem-solve and adapt to delays, breakdowns, and other operational demands
About You
  • Experience in a transport depot environment.

About The Role
  • This role consists of a large amount of administration, therefore requiring a very high standard of attention to detail
  • Checking of service dockets, timesheets and safety documentation as submitted
  • Data entry using an internal software system
  • Processing purchase orders for all departments and liaising with suppliers as required
  • Problem-solve and adapt to delays, breakdowns, and other operational demands
  • Answering incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate department
  • General administration duties as requested by all departments within the business

About The Role
  • Allocation of vehicles and drivers to jobs including the use of compliant subcontractors; completing and sending daily run sheets through our internal systems
  • Confirming job-specific requirements with the Operations Supervisor to ensure the correct equipment is allocated prior to departing the depot
  • Scheduling fleet maintenance requirements in conjunction with the Workshop Manager
  • Ongoing communication with our customers to ensure service levels are maintained
  • Communication and confirmation of requirements with our disposal facilities
