AUSJET22 Is Coming to Melbourne

As the first waterjet technology exhibition and conference of its kind to be hosted right here in Australia, AUSJET22 is coming to Melbourne this October.

Anyone who has utilised these technologies knows that water jet, drain and vacuum technologies have revolutionised how we approach demolition and digging. In fact, modern vacuum excavation processes combine high-pressure water with an air vacuum – the former cuts into and breaks up the soil, and the latter then removes the slurry that’s produced from the location to a debris tank.

Despite the surge in popularity, there’s still not much happening in Australia when it comes to industry trade events, conferences designed to share ideas, new products, and networking opportunities for those who work in this sector – until now.

Key Events and Programs Happening at AUSJET22

The Australasian High Pressure Water Jetting Association (AUSJET) was initially formed in 1991 on the back of concerns within industry about the high rates of injuries sustained in the water jetting industry. At the time, five water blasting companies came together to form the new association, with the aim being to provide standards and training to ensure a safer industry.

In 2013, high pressure water jetting’s close association with drain cleaning, vacuum loading and hydro excavation services was recognised which also required the development of standards and training. This led to the decision to form the Australasian Drain Cleaning and Vacuum Association (ADCVA) and incorporate it with AUSJET.

Today, the vision for AUSJET and ADCVA is to become the world leading association for the water jetting, drain cleaning, vacuum loading and hydro excavation industries and lead in standards, safety, training and industry advocacy. As a means to further connect members of this sector, a new industry specific event is set to be unveiled this October.

AUSJET22 is a new dedicated biennial water jet, drain and vacuuming technology exhibition and conference presented by the industry’s peak body, AUSJET. The inaugural AUSJET22 is set to take place on Wednesday 12 October and Thursday 13 October at Melbourne Showgrounds, and will host a wide range of programs and events designed to educate and empower Australians who work in this sector, with highlights including the following.

Trade Show – Roughly one hundred dedicated water jet, drain and vacuum industry leaders will be gathered together to bring visitors gadgets, new technologies and state of the art supplies for these industries. With both indoor and outdoor exhibitors present at the inaugural event, the trade show is considered to be the highlight of what visitors can expect from AUSJET22.

Education Programs – In conjunction with the trade show, a dedicated conference program will cover specific new technology and industry relevant topics. Floor talks will be incorporated to allow exhibitors to present to the exhibition-only visitor base, and present additional value for both exhibitors and visitors alike.

Hands On Demos – Live demonstration arenas are a key component of AUSJET22, with rolling sessions interwoven into the overall schedule for visitors to get the chance to see, feel and experience the newest advancements and state of the art technologies in these industries, without having to pay a cent upfront on a new piece of equipment.

Networking – With no speeches and boring presentations, AUSJET22 is a time to catch-up with old friends, make new ones, and have some fun with industry professionals who speak your language. A cocktail networking-style function will take place on the show floor, with the ‘Sip + Connect’ event held on Wednesday 12 October from 5pm to 6pm.

Although The Austrans Group won’t have a stall at the trade show, we’ll also be amongst the crowds exploring the new technologies, listening to key insights from the sector, and will be looking to connect with clients and peers alike. We’re acutely aware of the importance of this new event for our sector, and are excited to see what the future holds for all members of the water jetting industry.
